Wheelchair Visual Check Guide
Getting Started
The Wheelchair Visual Check system allows you to perform and document regular safety inspections of wheelchairs. This guide will help you complete thorough and accurate inspections.
Important Note: Visual checks must be performed within the last 14 days. The system will not allow you to backdate checks beyond this period.
Wheelchair Details
- Location and Numbers: Enter the wheelchair numbers and their locations in the textarea provided.
- Date of Inspection: Select the current date or a date within the last 14 days.
Tip: Be specific with locations to ensure easy identification for future reference.
Inspection Categories
- Wheels:
- Check if wheels turn freely
- Verify tire inflation
- Inspect for buckling
- Ensure rims are intact
- Foot Rests:
- Confirm they are properly attached
- Test detachment mechanism
- Verify free movement
- Chair Condition:
- Check canvas integrity
- Test folding mechanism
- Verify all straps are fitted
- Arm Rests:
- Check structural integrity
- Test movement if applicable
- Brakes:
- Test left brake functionality
- Test right brake functionality
- Overall Condition:
- Assess cleanliness
- Check for loose screws
- Verify unique identification
Recording Issues
- Select "No" for any category that fails inspection
- Use the comments section to detail specific issues found
- Document any immediate corrective actions taken
- Note any required follow-up maintenance
Tip: Be as detailed as possible in your comments to help maintenance staff address issues effectively.
Submitting Your Check
- Review all responses for accuracy
- Add any necessary comments about defects or required actions
- Check the confirmation box to verify the records are true and correct
- Click the "Create Wheelchair Visual Check" button to submit
Note: The submit button will remain disabled until you check the confirmation box confirming the accuracy of your inspection.
