Service Log Guide
Overview
The Service Log system allows you to record and track maintenance services performed. This guide will help you create and manage service log entries effectively.
Important Note: All service logs are visible to authorized maintenance personnel and cannot be deleted, only edited.
Accessing Service Logs
- View Existing Logs: The main service log page displays all entries in a table format with date, name, and comments.
- Edit Existing Logs: Click on any date in the table to edit that specific service log entry.
Tip: Use the dashboard link to quickly return to the maintenance overview page.
Creating New Service Logs
- Starting a New Entry:
- Click the "Add new servicelog" button from the main service log page
- Select the date using the date picker
- Enter your name in the name field
- Provide detailed comments about the service performed
- Required Information:
- Date (automatically defaults to current date)
- Name of person performing the service
- Detailed description of work performed
Writing Effective Comments
- Be Specific: Include details about what was done, parts used, and any follow-up needed
- Include Important Details:
- Location of service performed
- Equipment or systems serviced
- Any issues encountered
- Resolution or pending actions
Tip: Clear, detailed comments help track maintenance history and assist other team members.
Editing Existing Entries
- Click on the date of the entry you wish to edit
- Update the necessary information in the form
- Review your changes for accuracy
- Click "Submit" to save your changes
Note: All edits are logged in the system for accountability purposes.
