Adding a New Sounder Location
- Unit Number (Required):
- Enter the unique identifier for the sounder unit
- Use the standardized numbering system for your facility
- Ensure the number hasn't been used for another sounder
- Location (Required):
- Provide a clear, detailed description of the sounder's location
- Include building, floor, and specific area information
- Use consistent terminology for easy reference
Tip: Be as specific as possible with location descriptions to help maintenance teams quickly locate units when needed.
Best Practices for Location Descriptions
- Use Standard Format: Always include building name/number, floor level, and area description
- Be Specific: Include nearby landmarks or reference points
- Use Cardinal Directions: Specify north, south, east, or west when applicable
- Include Room Numbers: If applicable, always include room numbers in your description
Example: "Building A, Floor 2, North Corridor, Outside Room 2.15"
Submitting the Entry
- Double-check both the unit number and location for accuracy
- Ensure there are no typos or formatting errors
- Click the "Submit" button to save the new sounder location
Note: After submission, you'll be redirected to the main sounder locations page where you can verify your entry.
Managing Existing Locations
- Viewing Locations: Access the complete list through the main fire alarm sounder locations page
- Updates: Contact your supervisor if you notice any information that needs to be corrected
