Emergency Light Location Creation Guide

The Emergency Light Location system allows you to record and track the locations of emergency lighting units throughout the facility. This guide will help you create accurate and detailed location entries.
Important Note: Each emergency light must have a unique unit number for proper identification and tracking purposes.
Required Information
- Unit Number (Required): A unique identifier for the emergency light unit
- Location (Required): The specific location where the emergency light is installed
Tip: Use clear, specific descriptions for locations to make future maintenance and inspections easier.
Creating a New Location Entry
- Enter Unit Number:
- Type the unit number in the designated field
- Use consistent formatting for all unit numbers
- Verify the unit number hasn't been used before
- Specify Location:
- Provide a clear, detailed description of the location
- Include relevant building sections or floor numbers
- Use standard terminology for consistency
Best Practices for Location Descriptions
- Include the floor number or level
- Specify nearby landmarks or room numbers
- Use cardinal directions when applicable
- Mention specific areas (e.g., "above main entrance", "stairwell exit")
Tip: Consistent location formatting helps with emergency response and maintenance planning.
Submitting Your Entry
- Double-check both the unit number and location for accuracy
- Ensure all required fields are completed
- Click the "Submit" button to save the location entry
Note: After submission, you'll be redirected to the emergency light locations overview page where you can verify your entry.
