Break Glass Location Creation Guide
Getting Started
The Break Glass Location system allows you to record and manage the locations of emergency break glass units throughout the facility. This guide will help you create accurate and detailed location entries.
Important Note: Each break glass unit must have a unique unit number for proper identification and maintenance tracking.
Required Information
- Unit Number (Required): Enter the unique identifier for the break glass unit
- Location (Required): Provide a clear and detailed description of where the unit is installed
Tip: Use clear, consistent terminology when describing locations to ensure easy identification by other maintenance staff.
Creating a New Location Entry
- Navigate to the Break Glass Location creation page
- Enter the unit number in the designated field
- Provide a detailed location description
- Review the information for accuracy
- Click the "Submit" button to save the entry
Tip: Include landmarks or reference points in your location description to make the unit easier to find.
Location Description Guidelines
- Be Specific: Include building name, floor number, and nearby landmarks
- Use Standard Format: Follow consistent formatting for all location descriptions
- Avoid Abbreviations: Write out full names to prevent confusion
- Include Access Information: Note any special access requirements or restrictions
After Submission
- Your entry will be saved to the database immediately
- You will be redirected to the main break glass locations page
- The new location will be visible in the complete list of break glass units
- The entry will include your user ID and the creation date for tracking purposes
Note: Once submitted, the entry becomes part of the official maintenance records. Contact your supervisor if you need to make any corrections.
